What are the vaccination requirements for Cuba?
Effective June 20, 2022, vaccinations will no longer be a requirement for travellers departing from Canadian airports. Wearing masks on planes and trains is not required, although it’s still strongly recommended that you wear a high quality and well-fitted mask or respirator while you travel. Do I need a Visa to travel to Cuba?
Canadian nationals holding a valid Canadian passport or a Canadian permanent resident card do not need a visa to enter Cuba. They can travel with their valid passports (and PR card) and the tourist card that is included in the holiday package and will be completed one the plane or upon arrival. What happens after I pay my deposit?
Congratulations – you have secured your spot on the trip! We will email you with your confirmation details and next steps about paying your final amount with the travel agent. From there it is important to start planning and packing! Make sure your passport is up to date (valid within 6 months of departure), you have checked your visa requirements, and get excited for the trip!

Do I need to have a negative test to enter Cuba?
No, you do not require a test to enter Cuba. Cuba entry requirements can be found here.

What is the included group excursion?
This is to be determined. Group excursion will be decided closer to depending on the availability of bookings and group desires.

How will the trip be structured for activities for the week?
There will be a few mandatory events, activities, or group check-ins for the week, but otherwise you will have free range to fill your vacation with what suits you.

What happens if I need to cancel after I pay the deposit, but before the final payments?
There are two options:
1. Find another student or guest to take over your deposit (spot on the trip), and their name will be transferred to your deposit. Email milfordc@macewan.ca with the transfer information up to before February 21, 2023.
2. If you need to cancel and cannot fill your spot, you will lose your $250 deposit but would not be responsible for the remaining balance.

What happens if I need to cancel after I pay the final amount after February 28, 2023?
Unfortunately, you will not be able to cancel for any refund.

Travel insurance:
SAMU requires you to show proof of travel insurance 2 weeks prior to departure. This insurance could be through your SAMU benefits, other benefits, credit card coverage, or externally purchased travel insurance such as AMA.

Why do I need to pay a $100 damage deposit for my room under the Student Group Policy?
This is the case with many resorts as student groups have historically been a riskier booking for resorts, so have put a damage deposit in place to protect them.The hotel will receive a guarantee deposit of $100 USD per person on arrival to the hotel, for any damage, expenses, losses, fines that customers might incur. If there is no damage, this deposit will be returned to the clients before departure.

Alcoholic drinks & access to the night club will be allowed to students older than 18 years old. “Rule of 10” will be in place, established by local authorities: In the case of damaged items, customers will be charged the value of the item multiplied by 10.
