On top of that\, nearly all Mandatory Non-Instructional Fees (MNIFs) will increase\, with the mental health MNIF doubling in cost. This is one of the highest tuition hikes in Alberta. In fact\, MacEwan is on pace to introduce the highest international student tuition increase across all Alberta universities. \nMeanwhile\, food insecurity continues to run rampant across campus. Students are sacrificing safety and comfort\, living in unsafe and unkempt housing just to afford school. At a time when students are already stretched thin\, these increases add yet another burden. \nSPEAK UP and let university leaders know that you deserve better from your institution. When there’s enough money in the accounts to build a new building while already planning for the next one\, then there is also enough money to maintain quality without burdening students further.
