Edmonton Motorshow, Apr. 4-7, Edmonton Expo Centre
The largest auto show in Western Canada returns to Edmonton for its 43rd year. The auto show features a massive show floor with over 750 vehicles including classics, exotics, customs and the latest from manufacturers around the world across all eight halls of the Expo Centre. While the show floor is littered with cars of all sorts, there is plenty to do at the auto show. With various games, demonstrations and even soapbox racing, there is something for car lovers of all ages.
Vikings: Beyond the Legend, Apr. 18-Oct. 20, Royal Alberta Museum
The Vikings are coming! Well, kind of. The Royal Alberta Museum is bringing one of the largest exhibits of Viking artifacts from the 9th and 10th centuries right to the heart of downtown Edmonton. The longest Viking warship ever discovered, a staggering 37-metres long with 25% original pieces, will be on display front and centre. In addition, the exhibit promises augmented reality experiences, hands-on activities and unique pieces such as “Thor’s hammer.” If you have ever been interested in Vikings, keep this on your radar.
Edmonton Expos, Apr. 26-28, Edmonton Expo Centre
Are you curious about cannabis? Tantalized by tats? Vibin’ for vapes? Captivated by cottages? Giddy about gems? If you answered yes to one or more of these questions then the weekend of Apr. 26 about to be your favourite of all time. It’s Expolooza, (not really, we made that up,) five unique expos will be happening in tandem at the Edmonton Expo Centre including Edmonton’s Cottage and Cabin Show, Gem and Mineral Show, Vape Expo, Tattoo and Arts Festival and the Cannabis and Hemp Expo. Each one charges an admission fee of about $12-15 and will be featured in one or more of the six halls of the Expo Centre.
Mythbusters: The Explosive Exhibition, Apr. 27-Sept. 2, Telus World of Science
Have you ever wanted to be a Mythbuster? Well now you can get pretty close. Telus World of Science’s next exhibit, Mythbusters: The Explosive Exhibition, features hands-on mythbusting experiences as seen on the show such as the Killer Card Toss, Blind Driving, Dodging a Bullet and more. There are even a few never-before-seen myths that have been specially curated just for the exhibit. In addition, more than 60 artifacts hand selected by the Mythbusters from the long running show will be on display. Step into the shoes of the Mythbusters and get busting!
