SAFE WALK VOLUNTEERS ARE COMMITTED MACEWAN STUDENTS AND PEERS WORKING TOWARDS A COLLABORATIVE GOAL: A SAFER CAMPUS FOR ALL
Safe Walk is a volunteer-operated, on-call service that assists students walking to their car, the LRT station or their bus stop after dark. Our Volunteers assist students by walking them to their car, transit station, or other nearby destination in the evening, while working to reduce risk and deter crime through frequent campus patrols. Safe Walk is located in the SAMU building (SA-216A).
For those that need assistance outside of Safe Walk hours please consider contacting one of the following:
If it is an emergency and/or life is at risk, please call 911.
If Safe Walk is not operating at the time that you required a walk, SAFE@MacEwan offers a Friend Walk option, where you can utilize the SAFE@MacEwan App to send your location to a friend so they can keep an eye on you until you get to your destination. They can watch you and can trigger a call to emergency services if necessary.
Please Note: SAFE@MacEwan’s Friend Walk feature requires location services and calling functions to be enabled on your cellular device; cellular rates may apply.
