Safe Walk

Safe Walk is a volunteer-operated, on-call service that assists students walking to their car, the LRT station or their bus stop after dark.

The Safe Walk is located in the SAMU building (SA-216A).

Safe Walk volunteers assist students by walking them to their car, transit station, or other nearby destination in the evening. We work to reduce risk and deter crime through frequent campus patrols.

When you request a walk, a minimum of 2 volunteers will accompany you, as we strongly believe that there is safety in numbers. As well, our volunteers receive comprehensive training so that they can appropriately respond to a variety of safety concerns.

OPERATING HOURS
Monday-Friday: 6:00 PM – 9:30 PM, excluding holidays. The service will be available starting October 30, 2023. An updated calendar can be found here.

REQUEST A WALK
Text 780-975-5766 OR approach one of our volunteers who are patrolling campus. Currently, we do not book walks in advance.
