Safe Walk

Safe Walk is a volunteer-operated, on-call service that assists students walking to their car, the LRT station or their bus stop after dark.

Safe Walk volunteers assist students by walking them to their car, transit station, or other nearby destination in the evening.

We work to reduce risk and deter crime through frequent campus patrols. Safe Walk is located in the SAMU building (SA-216A).

When you request a walk, a minimum of 2 volunteers will accompany you. Our volunteers receive comprehensive training so that they can appropriately respond to a variety of safety concerns.

OPERATING HOURS
Safe Walk is currently closed and will reopen for the Fall 2024 semester

REQUEST A WALK
Text 780-975-5766, approach our table set up in SA-216A, or stop one of our volunteers on a patrol.

Currently, we do not book walks in advance – this is a feature we are currently working on.
