Important Notice: In an effort to get rid of Sunday exams, MacEwan is proposing the removal of the Fall Reading Break, starting next academic year (2025-2026). Your elected representatives at SAMU are trying to oppose this proposal, and the more voices to support us, the better.
Want to tell them how you feel? Use the form below to write a letter with the provided template, or write in your own words.
Your SAMU Executives are hard at work advocating against the proposal to remove Fall Reading Break, but they can’t do it alone. You can help in two ways:
Your letters will help show voters at General Faculties Council that Fall Reading Break matters to students, and that losing it would be detrimental to your well-being and academic success. Over 4,000 of you filled out the Fall Reading Break survey and told us you value your Fall Reading Break more than any other proposed alternative.
By sending a letter, you’re making sure decision-makers are aware of the student experience, and you’re helping stop this proposal in its tracks.
