Welcome, and welcome back! We’re so excited to meet everyone for the Winter 2026 semester at MacEwan!

We have a packed first week for you with prizes to win and programming about what SAMU offers during your academic journey!

*One $500 tuition credit is available for students to win. The grand prize draw will occur on the week of January 12-16. The grand prize winners must complete a Prize Claim Form to receive prizes after a successful draw.

New Student Orientation
We’ll be at New Student Orientation in Building 9 on Friday, January 2 with snacks and info about the different things that SAMU can do for you!

Meet SAMU Expo & Games
Stop by the SAMU Building on Monday, January 5 to meet all the different SAMU departments! We’ll have info, more snacks, games and prizes for all who attend!

SAMU’s Battle of the Bands
Five bands enter, but only one can leave with the grand prize: THE OPENING SLOT AT FALL FEST 2026! Join us at Temple Bar in The Starlite Room to cheer them on and rock on all night long at BATTLE OF THE BANDS! January 9, 2026, doors open at 7:00 PM at Temple Bar in the Starlite Room at 10030 102 Street.

MEET SAMU DEPARTMENTS!
Talk to each of our individual departments and take advantage of what SAMU has to offer you! Each of the following departments and their staff members will be present at Meet SAMU: U-Pass & ARC Cards, Events, Student Groups, The Griff, Volunteers, Programs, Services, Governance and the Executive Committee, Health and Dental and the Student Advocacy Centre!
