In August, members of SAMU’s Executive Committee and Students’ Council hosted a student-focused roundtable attended by MLAs David Eggen and Rakhi Pancholi. During the meeting, Eggen and Pancholi listened as your representatives shared concerns regarding the barriers students face, including the growing cost of living and education as well as the need for more accessible mental health supports.
This meeting enables SAMU to continue its advocacy efforts by ensuring that student voices are heard at the provincial level. By bridging direct engagement between students, the Executive Committee, the Students’ Council, and elected officials, SAMU has built a strong foundation for meaningful dialogue. Through this proactive approach, SAMU continues to amplify the student voice, ensuring that student needs are not only heard but prioritized by decision-makers.
