WOULD YOU LIKE TO OPT OUT?
Students who wish to opt out of the health and dental insurance must have comparable coverage (from your parents, spouse, job, government or band) and must submit an online opt out form before the applicable deadline. Deadlines are firm, therefore if you miss the deadline, you will be required to pay the associated fees for the entire year.
To find out eligibility criteria, deadlines and the opt out application, go to online forms.
Once your opt out application is approved, the fees will be removed from your student account. If you already paid, you will be reimbursed within 4-6 weeks. The refund will be processed by the MacEwan Fee office. All inquiries regarding refunds can be directed to acctrec@macewan.ca. Once your opt out has been approved, you will automatically be removed from the plans for 5 years and you do not need to resubmit the online form every term/year.
Opt-out Deadlines:
Fall Term: September 30, 2024
Winter Term: January 31, 2025 (New Students Only)
