Buying local (if you can) is a great way to help the community. Let us look at some of the advantages!

Advantage one: Buying local is great for the environment because the products are made locally and will be sold locally therefore less packaging that sellers need to worry about and there are less emissions from transportation compared to nationwide or international products.

Advantage two: The products are homemade, and home grown which means that there was much work put into it and makes it one of a kind!

Advantage three: Buying local helps local businesses thrive which then leads to more small businesses opening which then creates job opportunities in the long run within the community. Therefore, it keeps money within the community.

Advantage four: The produce will be much fresher and more nutritious. Also, you will be eating the produce seasonally when it is grown and that is usually the best time to eat it.

Advantage five: You meet more of your community at markets by volunteering and visiting.

There are many more reasons why buying locally is a good idea and it is something worth looking into.
