What is Students’ Council?
Students’ Council is SAMU’s governing body made up of elected Councillors and Executive Committee members. It makes decisions on policies, budgets, and priorities that impact the student experience at MacEwan.
What is the Executive Committee?
The Executive Committee is a group of five elected students who represent the student body, advocate on key issues, oversee the General Manager, and support the work of Students’ Council.
Who can run in SAMU elections?
Any eligible MacEwan student who meets the nomination requirements can run in either the Fall Councillor Election or Winter Executive Committee Election.
How much time does being a candidate take?
Time commitment varies depending on your role and campaign approach, but candidates should expect to dedicate time during the campaign period to engage with students and attend events.
