Students’ Council

MEET YOUR ELECTED STUDENTS’ COUNCIL MEMBERS FOR 2025/2026.

Students’ Council is the highest governing body within the Students’ Association of MacEwan University. It is comprised of 14 Councillors and five Executive Committee members. Councillor elections are held each Fall term.

Students’ Council approves bylaws, writes the policies that govern the activities of SAMU and also ensure expectations have been met. Essentially, the Students’ Council speaks on behalf of MacEwan students, and helps to make sure your concerns are being addressed and that your university experience is the best it can be.

Students’ Council is moderated by a Chair. The Chair enables orderly and effective meetings to occur by maintaining a neutral and fair perspective. This allows Students’ Council to focus on substantive discussions pertinent to its jurisdiction and business. As such, the appropriate selection, appointment, evaluation, and recognition of a Chair takes place.

The position of Students’ Council Chair is appointed for a term of May-April.

Timothy Jobs, Chair, 2025-2026

Rotaract works with organizations like the Edmonton Food Bank, GEF Seniors Housing, and Boyle Street to provide (in small ways) for the community. I am also a self-published author. My debut novel, The Malignancy, was released in May of 2024. The reviews have been decent and it is in stores all around Edmonton metro.

I like to read, listen to 70s rock and soul, and watch tv with my two little dogs.

Wilfrid Youbi Fansi - VP External

Hi, I’m Wilfrid Youbi Fansi, your Vice President External, and I’m here to ensure your voice is heard. As a Marketing Major with a Legal Studies Minor, I’ve always been fascinated with the intricacies of public policy and how it impacts regular people in their lives. Knowledge really is power, and I aim to empower everyone around me by holding our representatives to account.

I am out and about making sure that all those we elect are holding their promises to students and do not neglect such an important sector like post-secondary.

In my free time, you’ll find me picking up a new creative hobby, climbing outdoors or doing some (very) amateur photography. Feel free to say hi if you see me in the halls!
